Purpose

This website is dedicated to sharing personal insights and experiences with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), also known historically as Asperger syndrome (AS). The purpose of this platform is multifaceted:

  • To inspire individuals with ASD: Your experiences may resonate with others, and what you thought was unique or unrelated to your condition might be more common than you realize.
  • To enlighten those without ASD: ASD might be different from what you previously thought or learned. This site can provide a different perspective, and you might discover similarities with your own experiences that lead you to consider you could be on the spectrum.
  • To support those with ASD: By sharing personal journeys, strategies, and coping mechanisms, this site aims to offer support and guidance to those living with ASD.
  • To aid family and friends: Understanding ASD can be challenging for partners, family, and friends. This resource aims to offer insights and advice on how to better support loved ones with ASD.
  • To facilitate a community of sharing: We encourage the exchange of experiences, lessons, and best practices. Feedback and discussion are welcomed through comments on the site, and direct contact with the author is always an option.

Please note, this site is a compilation of personal perspectives and is not intended to serve as an authoritative or professional diagnostic or therapeutic resource.

Languages

The author tries to make this site available to as many people as possible. At first, most pages will be made available in English, German, and French.

In general, I write the English version first, then have them translated to German and French with translation tools, with a final thorough fine-tuning and adaptation to my personal taste.
